Akshay Kumar Owns 50% IP of Singh Is Kinng; Part 2 Needs His Consent

Producer Shailendra Singh revealed the follow-up to the 2008 classic comedy Singh Is Kinng in an interview a few days ago. The director also disclosed that Ranveer Singh or Diljit Dosanjh will play the title role in Singh Is Kinng 2, which will not feature the original star Akshay Kumar.

If someone wants to make a part two, they must work with Akshay or get his NOC to proceed without him. According to a person familiar with the situation, Akshay and his crew are unwilling to give up the rights to Singh Is Kinng and plan to create a sequel as soon as they have a fantastic story.

The insider further explained that Akshay Kumar must be involved in the production of Singh Is Kinng 2 since he owns 50% of the intellectual property and his approval is required to turn it into a franchise. "He would give the comic series in the future, from Jolly LLB to Welcome, Housefull & Bhagam Bhag, as a thank you for all of the love over the years," the source said.
