Dragon-like scam takes place in Telangana as IT employee absconds after recent employment

Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, debuted on theatres on February 21, 2025. The movie, which is now a huge sensation, included a particular fraud that appears to have a real-life parallel.

A Times of India story claims that Rapa Sai Prashanth, a software developer from Telangana's Infosys, duplicated a scheme that was comparable to the one in the movie. To get a job, the man allegedly produced phoney credentials and assumed the identity of someone else.

Only fifteen days after the scheme was exposed, Prashanth lost his job. Due to accusations of impersonation, the employer terminated his contract.

According to the source, Prashanth recently finished a virtual interview and was employed by the software giant. On January 20, 2025, he received an offer letter; nevertheless, his communication skills were discovered to be lacking in his day-to-day work.

But the candidate had done a really good job during the virtual interview, which sparked suspicions and an internal probe. His company ID photo and screenshots of the interview were compared by the HR department.

They allegedly found out that Prashanth had been replaced at the interview by someone else. Prashanth has since fled after this disclosure.
