Predator: Badlands | Official Trailer
Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a Yautja warrior and a runt by his species' standards, is that predator. (But still big and scary by human standards.) He will have to go on a hunt on one of the most deadly planets in the universe to prove himself to his clan. But fortunately for him, he won't be by himself.
He is accompanied by Thia (Elle Fanning), a synthetic produced by the evil Weyland-Yutani Corporation from the Alien franchise. Yes, there will be another crossover between Alien and Predator! (It's a fantastic year to be an Alien fan between this and FX's Alien: Earth.) But unlike Alien vs. Predator, which pits Xenomorphs and Yautja against each other, Predator: Badlands casts Dek and Thia as unlikely allies.
Predator: Badlands' synthetic-Yautja collaboration is teased in the trailer, which also features the sight gag of Dek wearing Thia's torso like a backpack. In addition to flashes of Dek speaking in the Yautja language with subtitles, there are teasers of a huge mech — aliens, anyone? — battling Dek's seemingly invincible prey.
The fact that Predator: Badlands is the brainchild of Dan Trachtenberg, the man behind 2022's Prey, an almost flawless Predator prequel, is perhaps its most exciting feature. Another incredible addition to the series is Trachtenberg's 2025 animated anthology film, Predator: Killer of Killers. Predator: Badlands is sure to be a hit with that kind of record.
