Maaman, starring Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles, hit the big screens on May 16, 2025. The family drama film is finally making its way to streaming services after rumours about its OTT release surfaced.
Where and when to watch Maaman?
Maaman is scheduled to launch on the over-the-top (OTT) platform ZEE5 on August 28, 2025. The streaming service itself released the official update.An official date for its streaming is currently being finalised. Soori had previously confirmed that ZED Network had purchased the digital and satellite rights.
Maaman tells the tale of Inba, a young man who provides his sister Girija with a great deal of care as she struggles to conceive after ten years of marriage. When Inba, his maternal uncle, finally gives birth to her son Nilan, she puts him first.
Years later, Inba and Rekha, his sister's gynaecologist, get married after falling in love. But even after getting married, his nephew Nilan frequently gets in the way, making it difficult for the couple to spend time together privately.
The couple had several arguments as a result of this, and Inba's sister Girija even mistook Rekha. At last, Nilan starts having fits as Inba and his nephew drift apart.

The entire plot revolves around what happens to Inba and Nilan's relationship and whether the former is able to balance his love life with his family life.

Actors Rajkiran, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Swasika as Girija, Master Prageeth Sivan, Baba Bhaskar, Bala Saravanan, Jayaprakash, Viji Chandrasekhar, Geetha Kailasam, and many more play important parts in Maaman, which stars Soori. Vimal, a Tamil actor, even makes a brief cameo in the movie.
Prasanth Pandiyaraj, who wrote the screenplay based on a story by Soori himself, is the film's director. Dinesh Purushothaman and Ganesh Siva handled the film's cinematography and editing, while Hesham Abdul Wahab, the famous actor from Hridayam, composed the music and background scores.
