CAUGHT STEALING – Official Trailer (HD)
The innovative filmmaker of Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and Black Swan, Darren Aronofsky, is back with his most recent film, Caught Stealing. The picture, which is a crime comedy with elements of the Coen Brothers, has a visually striking cast that includes Regina King, Matt Smith, Bad Bunny, and Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz.
Caught Stealing's official trailer has been released by Sony Pictures. Novelist and television writer Charlie Houston adapted the movie from his own book, which is about baseball-crazy anti-hero Henry "Hank" Thompson. The movie, which is set in 1990s New York, follows barman Hank and his girlfriend Yvonne as they become involved in a criminal plot.
In contrast to Aronofsky's earlier films, Caught Stealing has a flirtatious, playful tone. According to the movie's synopsis, "Austin Butler's character, Hank Thompson, was a high school baseball star who is now unable to play, but everything else is going fine." He works as a bartender at a dive in New York, has a great girl named Zoë Kravitz, and his favourite team is making an underdog run for the championship.
Hank finds himself in the midst of a diverse group of menacing gangsters after his punk-rock neighbour Russ (played by Matt Smith) asks him to look after his cat for a few days. The issue is that he doesn't know why they all want a piece of him.
Hank must use all of his hustle to survive long enough to discover the truth as he tries to escape their ever-tightening hold.
Austen Butler, a teenage sensation, has recently starred in a number of well-known films, including Elvis and Dune: Part Two.
Caught Stealing is launching in cinemas in the US on August 29, 2025.
