Canada Food Bank Fundraising | Metasoft GDS Success
Food Banks Canada is a national charitable organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and addressing food insecurity across the country. Supporting a network of over 5,500 food-related organizations, Food Banks Canada has been at the forefront of efforts to ensure that all Canadians have access to nutritious food.
Their mission is clear: to create a Canada where no one goes hungry.
In recent months, the demand for food bank services has surged, with over 2 million visits reported monthly. This increase highlights a pressing need for enhanced food distribution and community support programs to serve vulnerable populations effectively. To meet this growing demand, Food Banks Canada has set an ambitious funding goal for the upcoming fiscal year.
Despite their robust team and commitment, Food Banks Canada knew they would face significant resource challenges in meeting these funding goals. As a result, they recognized the need for a more strategic approach to fundraising to support this effort.
To overcome these challenges, Food Banks Canada decided to partner with Metasoft’s Grant Development Services (GDS) team.
As they explained, "While we have a robust team, we recognized that we needed significant additional professional support to maximize our fundraising potential. GDS brings a wealth of expertise and an efficient, cost effective approach that we can leverage to achieve our fundraising goals."
Since partnering with GDS, Food Banks Canada has already achieved notable success. Within the first four weeks of the fundraising campaign, they secured a $100,000 grant from a private family foundation. A representative from Food Banks Canada stated, "This early grant will enable us to expand our reach and make a tangible difference in communities that are struggling."
Building on this initial success, Food Banks Canada has extended its contract with GDS specifically for strategic outreach to the 178 foundation prospects identified through a GDS feasibility study. A representative from Food Banks Canada expressed their enthusiasm: "We believe that continuing this partnership will unlock even more opportunities for funding and support."
