Do Patti Review: Kriti Sanon, Kajol, and Shaheer Sheikh’s Flawed Take on Domestic Abuse
Discover our review of Do Patti, featuring Kriti Sanon, Kajol, and Shaheer Sheikh. While the film tackles serious themes of domestic abuse, it struggles with incoherence and problematic storytelling. Read on for a deep dive into its flaws and missed opportunities.

Plot:  Kriti Sanon plays the adult characters, Saumya and Shailee, who are identical twins who become orphaned at a young age. Their caretaker, whom they affectionately refer to as Maa ji, looks after them. Saumya needs more care and attention because she has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Getting less affection and attention than her sister is something Shailee can't handle. She spends the majority of her early years in the hostel, away from home. Years later, when she goes home, she is determined to take everything away from her sister, including her new lover Dhruv (Shaheer Sheikh), who is the son of a prominent minister and a professional paraglider.

Will Shailee make Dhruv hers in order to make amends with her sister, or will Saumya end up with Dhruv? How does Kajol's character, Inspector Vidya Jyothi, end up looking into a highly dangerous case of domestic violence involving Dhruv and his wife? Who is innocent and who is guilty? Given that Dhruv is a professional paraglider and that his father is a well-known pastor, what does the title mean?

Do Patti Review - What works, what doesn't?

Do Patti's idea of a "top guy" (Dhruv) facing off against a pair of twos (the two sisters) is lyrical. Thus, the movie's title fits in perfectly. Kriti Sanon is stunning to watch and exudes glamour. She has a dazzling chemistry with Shaheer Sheikh.

The film's tunes are lively and catchy. Among the songs, Ranjhan is the best. Despite the film's disarray, the attempt to create a fast-paced, sultry, and captivating film is evident, and that is what filmmakers should aim for.

The writing of Do Patti is haphazard, and many of the scenes have no bearing on the message the filmmakers hope to convey at the end of the movie. There is almost no consistency in the film. The songs are arranged somewhat haphazardly. The picture attempts to be a courtroom drama, an investigation thriller, an emotional sibling narrative, and a powerful social message film all at once, but it is unable to be any of these things consistently or effectively. The fabricated problems and the easy-to-follow plot are detrimental to the movie.

The movie continues in the most insane way to defend a court's incorrect decision. In actuality, it permits and encourages complainants to fabricate situations in order to establish their case in court and obtain the intended outcome. For a subject
