In the forthcoming musical film Song Sung Blue, Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson will share a leading role. The movie will chronicle the tale of a real-life couple who started Lightning & Thunder, a tribute band to Neil Diamond.
Craig Brewer, who is also well-known for his role in Hustle and Flow, will helm the movie. It will be based on the same-titled documentary from 2008. Regarding the roles, Hudson will play Clair Sabrina and Jackman will play Mike.
"Based on a true story, two down-on-their-luck musicians (Jackman, 56, and Hudson, 45) form a joyous Neil Diamond tribute band, proving it's never too late to find love and follow your dreams," reads the official synopsis of the film.

Erika Hampson and Creg Kohs, who produced the 2008 documentary, will both be executive producers of the musical. Michael Imperioli, Fisher Stevens, Jim Belushi, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, and Hudson Hilbert Hensley are among the other cast members who appear alongside Jackman and Hudson in the movie.
The Deadpool and Wolverine actor revealed the film on his Instagram stories with Hudson, captioning the photos with the words "Here we gooo." The actress from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Jackman are both veterans of the musical genre.
The Logan star has previously dazzled us with his exceptional acting in leading parts in Broadway productions such as Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman, and others. Kate has acted in films like Almost Famous, for which she was nominated for her first Oscar.
She is a gifted singer as well as someone who has been actively involved in the music industry. In a recent People Magazine interview, the actress said, "My first love was music. It truly has taken a lifetime to develop."
Regarding her career, Hudson just published her first studio album, Glorious, which beautifully captures the love and devotion that each member of her family has with one another.
Regarding Jackman, he most recently appeared in the Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine, costarring with Ryan Reynolds and setting numerous box office records. He will be next seen in Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie. Currently, in post-production, it is slated to release in 2026.
