The Made In India announcement video, which would be created by Varun Gupta (Max Studios) and SS Karthikeya (Showing Business), was released by SS Rajamouli in September 2023. The biopic of Indian cinema, which was inspired by Dadasaheb Phalke's life, was announced as a pan-India release. Since then, Varun Gupta, SS Rajamouli, and SS Karthikeya have been diligently working on the script, and they have now locked a draft.
Sources close to the production claim that NTR Jr. recently heard the script read aloud by SS Rajamouli, Varun Gupta, and SS Karthikeya, and the Young Tiger gave the project his approval right away. The lesser-known stories of Dadasaheb Phalke, renowned as the "Father of Indian Cinema," astounded NTR Jr. when he heard the script. NTR was taken aback by the level of detail in the piece, which traces the beginnings and development of Indian cinema. According to a source familiar with the situation, "He is thrilled to portray the father of Indian cinema on the big screen."
Although NTR Jr. has verbally approved the idea, the paperwork and other procedures have not yet been completed, the source continued. In addition to SS Rajamouli, NTR Jr. also adores and respects his son SS Karthikeya and production partner Varun Gupta. He listened to the narration and even engaged in a lengthy conversation on the screenplay, script, and treatment components," the insider continued.
NTR Jr. is currently filming his next film with Prashanth Neel before moving on to the next film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. In addition, the insider said, "Made In India will give NTR Jr. a chance to step back from the action genre and try something that has never been done before." In the meantime, he is preparing for War 2's Independence Day weekend release.
