Kannappa, starring Vishnu Manchu in the leading role, hit the big screens on June 27, 2025. The film will probably be made available on streaming services after only four weeks in theatres.
The Vishnu Manchu film Kannappa is scheduled to debut on the over-the-top streaming service Amazon Prime Video on July 25, 2025, according to a report by 123Telugu. If the report is accurate, the movie will be available on digital platforms only a month after its theatrical debut.
However, neither the streaming service nor the film's creators have formally confirmed Kannappa's OTT release. Vishnu Manchu disclosed before Kannappa's release that he had not completed an OTT agreement in time for the film's premiere.
The actor told reporters, "I have a lot of freedom because my movie won't be available on OTT for ten weeks." By God's grace, I don't have any release pressure, and that's my deal. My sole goal is to present the audience with the best.
The story of Thinnadu, a young, ferocious, atheist tribal hunter, is told in Kannappa. But one fateful day, the man finds a Shiva Lingam in the forest and does his best to offer sacrifices to the idol.
The main focus of the movie is the man's transformation into the greatest follower of Lord Shiva in Hindu mythology. The mythological texts that form the basis of the Kannappa legend mention the man as a saint.
Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Preity Mukhundhan, Arpit Ranka, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Siva Balaji, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, and numerous other actors play important roles in Kannappa, which stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role.
In addition to the supporting cast, the movie includes cameos from Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal.
Vishnu himself wrote the screenplay and story for Kannappa, which is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. When the movie first came out, critics gave it varying reviews.
