When Kim Kardashian took the testimony at her May 13 robbery trial in Paris, she made headlines by recalling the horrific 2016 crime. The reality personality wore extravagant diamond jewellery throughout her testimony, including a huge 22-carat ring that was reportedly purchased with the money she received from the robbery's insurance. The 20-carat emerald-cut diamond ring that was taken during the notorious break-in is even smaller than the new sparkler.
According to Page Six, Kim Kardashian bought her new diamond ring with the insurance money she got after the jewellery heist that cost $10 million USD. The ring is a symbolic upgrade and more costly at 22 carats. She went back to Lorraine Schwartz, her long-time jeweller, who had also created the original stolen ring.
Kim's ex-husband, Kanye West, had given her the emerald-cut diamond that was stolen during the heist. In the months before to the theft, it was supposed to be an enhanced engagement ring. Kim still has the 15-carat cushion-cut ring that West had previously proposed with, which was also created by Schwartz.
Kim reflected on the jewellery she brought to Paris in a segment of The Kardashians. "The only piece of jewellery I owned that I didn't bring to Paris was a cushion cut, which was the first one I got engaged to Kanye." Kanye once warned her, "Never wear both of your rings at the same time," she continued. Do you want to get robbed?
Kardashian accessorised with a USD 8,100 Briony Raymond diamond ear cuff and donned a $3 million Samer Halimeh New York diamond necklace in court. On Mother's Day, she also seemed to be wearing a diamond anklet that her daughter North had given her, which featured the birthstones of all four of her children.
During Paris Fashion Week, Kardashian described the evening of the 2016 heist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès. She stated in her testimony that she was afraid for her life during the event. She told the court, "I thought I was going to be raped and then killed." Yunis Abbas, the suspected ringleader, is one of ten individuals indicted in the case, the most of them are in their 60s and 70s.
