This year, horror films have gained substantial popularity in Bollywood, dominating the box office with impressive earnings. Starting with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shaitaan’ earlier this year, which captivated audiences, the trend continued with the June release of ‘Munjyaa,’ another horror hit. Recently, the blockbuster ‘Stree 2’ crossed ₹700 crores, proving the genre’s growing appeal among viewers.
Now, Rashmika Mandanna is all set to make her mark in the horror genre. Maddock Films, known for producing hits like 'Stree,' 'Stree 2,' and 'Munjyaa,' has announced a new horror project with Rashmika titled 'Thama.' In her first horror film, Rashmika will star alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles. The film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his expertise in the horror genre, with expectations high for this big-budget production. ‘Thama’ is scheduled for release next Diwali, adding to the lineup of much-anticipated movies.
This project marks Rashmika's first venture into horror. In addition, she is currently involved in several big Bollywood projects, including ‘Pushpa 2’ with Allu Arjun, ‘Saava’ with Vicky Kaushal, ‘Sikandar’ with Salman Khan, and ‘Kubera’ with Dhanush.
