Varun Dhawan opens up about being protective of daughter Lara

Varun Dhawan is now enjoying the positive reviews that his new series Citadel: Honey Bunny has received. In his personal life, the actor is loving his role as a father to his daughter, Lara. Varun has since talked candidly about his protectiveness of his daughter. He continued by threatening to kill anyone who hurt her.

Varun Dhawan was asked how he related to his role as a father to a young girl in the television series Citadel: Honey Bunny in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.

The actor responded by discussing how becoming a father alters a person. According to Varun, mothers turn into "tigeresses." He also talked about having a protective instinct for his daughter as a dad. Varun went on, "I know you feel the same way about sons, but I would literally kill someone if they did even the slightest (small) harm to a daughter." VD went on to clarify that he was saying that with all seriousness.

Varun Dhawan also mentioned in the interview that, having become a father himself, he could relate to his own father's protectiveness towards him. The Baby John star stated that David Dhawan was always concerned about him and urged him to arrive home promptly. Varun said he never understood why his father would want everyone to be together.

Varun, recalling his emotions, remarked, "I would never get it." I would ask, "What's wrong with him? What is it that he desires? Why does he want to keep me close to him when I am not a child? "Now that I have a baby, I understand my father," he said in closing.

On June 3, 2024, Varun Dhawan welcomed his daughter with Natasha Dalal. Her name is Lara, which he recently disclosed.

Intriguingly, Varun is also playing the role of a parent to a young girl in his next film, Baby John, in addition to Citadel: Honey Bunny. On December 25, 2024, the action thriller, which was directed by Kalees and produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande, would be released in theatres.
