Brad Ingelsby, the creator of Mare of Easttown, is giving us a sneak peek at some of the first scenes from his upcoming drama series Task on HBO.

The seven-episode series, which will debut on HBO in September and be available for streaming on HBO Max, stars Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey. Weekly episodes will be released.

An FBI agent (Ruffalo) leads a Task Force to stop a series of violent robberies carried out by an unwary family man (Pelphrey) in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia in Ingelsby's creation, Task.

The trailer opens with the statement, "Home invasions have been on the rise." "A minimum of nine homes have been damaged."

The cast also includes Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, Thuso Mbedu, Sam Keeley, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, and Martha Plimpton.

Alongside director/EPs Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Ingelsby writes, runs the show, and serves as executive producer. In addition to Ruffalo, David Crockett, and Ron Schmidt, Mark Roybal and Paul Lee executive produce Wiip. Jeremy Yaches and Nicole Jordan-Webber co-executive produce Public Record.

In order to put an end to a series of violent thefts carried out by an unassuming family guy (Pelphrey), Ruffalo portrays an FBI agent assigned to lead a task unit of comparatively inexperienced agents.
