Malavika Mohanan, born on August 4, 1993, in Payyanur, Kerala, and raised in Mumbai, is an Indian actress known for her work across Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada cinema. Daughter of renowned cinematographer K.U. Mohanan made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Pattam Pole (2013) opposite Dulquer Salmaan. Her performance in Nirnayakam (2015) earned her critical acclaim and a Special Jury Award at the Jaycey Awards.
Malavika gained international recognition with her role as Tara in Majid Majidi's Beyond the Clouds (2017), where she portrayed a young woman from Mumbai's dhobi ghat. To prepare for the role, she underwent a significant physical transformation and immersed herself in the character's environment. She continued to expand her filmography with notable roles in Tamil films like Petta (2019) alongside Rajinikanth and Master (2021) with Vijay. Her recent projects include Maaran (2022) and Christy (2023).
