Barsaat, starring Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra, was released in 2005. Although Akshay Kumar was originally slated to play the protagonist in the movie, director Suneel Darshan recently disclosed that he was forced to leave the picture after Twinkle Khanna left him. Bobby Deol eventually signed on to star in the movie.
Suneel Darshan was questioned about his 2005 movie Barsaat during a recent Friday Talkies interview. In his reply, he recalled that Akshay Kumar had been the movie's original star, but that as production got going, he had to deal with some "ajeeb sa problem (a weird problem)" with his wife, Twinkle Khanna.
The seasoned director revealed that Khiladi Kumar and Priyanka Chopra were the original cast members of the movie, which was intended to be shot in a single schedule. But when Akshay called him for a meeting five days ahead of time, he knew something wasn't quite right.

It's interesting to note that Bobby Deol's manager called Darshan on his way to meet the actor and asked him to wait while asking him to collaborate on a movie. Darshan went on to say that Akshay eventually left the project because "Kuch blunder aise ho chuke the (He made some mistakes)"
Twinkle had left his house, and some gossip about Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar had begun to circulate. Being an actor requires responsibility. The seasoned director made it clear that he did not hold PeeCee accountable for the circumstances, believing instead that the guys ought to be "more responsible" and that the actress was "doing what was in her own interest."
During their conversation, Darshan mentioned that Akshay had pledged to work with him on their upcoming film. After the director departed, he called Bobby's management right after and ultimately agreed to work on the movie.
The director continued by saying that he and Deol negotiated a three-film deal that forbade him from doing any other work, but Bobby consented and complied.
It's interesting to note that Bobby's 1995 first motion picture, was Barsaat, which gave him the big debut in the Bollywood industry.
