The news of Awarapan 2 has excited fans of Emraan Hashmi and classic Hindi film music in a time when Bollywood frequently favours dazzling sounds over timeless songs. On Emraan's 46th birthday, the official trailer for the follow-up to the 2007 cult classic Awarapan was unveiled. Even though the movie is still in pre-production, Hashmi's pledge to bring back the soulful musical era that formerly characterised his cinema has already captured our interest.
When asked if he misses the poignant, melodic soundtrack of his past films in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Emraan didn't mince words. With assurance, he declared, "Agle saal Toh usme aap dekhiye, Jo Lost Melodies, and Reminiscences of Those Melodies are all chart-topping albums from my film, Jo Eagle Saal Release Ho Rahi Hai and Awarapan Release Ho Rahi Hai. (To show you that the lost melodies and the memory of those melodies will return next year, I'll give you a smash hit record from my upcoming movie, Awarapan.)

In a recent interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Emraan clarified that he never claimed credit for some of the most famous Hindi movie songs from the 2000s, despite the fact that he is frequently linked to them. According to him, those tunes "just worked like magic" rather than being painstakingly chosen for popularity.
Many showcased up-and-coming artists who later rose to prominence in the field.
Emraan also talked passionately about his work with the late singer KK, noting that his passing was a great shock to the music industry and that a talent like his cannot be replaced.
Awarapan 2, which was written by Bilal Siddiqi and directed by Nitin Kakkar, will be released in theatres on April 3, 2026. Vishesh Films is behind it. Emraan's melancholic performances and passionate romantic plots helped popularise the genre, which is being revived under the same label that produced the original. Fans are eagerly awaiting the music, which Emraan maintains will reverberate the tunes that characterised a generation, even as the sequel seeks to continue where Awarapan left off.
Emraan is working on a number of other projects outside Awarapan 2, such as his Telugu debut ,OG with Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Mohan. In addition, he stars in the BSF drama series Ground Zero and appears in G2, the eagerly awaited Goodachari sequel.
