Police arrest 20-year-old for making threatening phone calls to Salman Khan
Based on the accusation made by the employee of Zeeshan Siddiqui's workplace, the Mumbai Police filed a report against unidentified individuals at the Nirmalnagar Police Station.
Zeeshan, who defeated Vishwanath Mahadeshwar of the Shiv Sena in the 2019 elections, has been named the NCP's candidate for the Bandra East seat. He is running against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Varun Sardesai.
According to reports, Gufran Khan, also known as Muhammad Tayyab, resides in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The 20-year-old was apprehended by Mumbai Police in the Sector 39 area after allegedly hiding in Noida. According to the police, the suspect used WhatsApp calls to make threats.
Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnia, claimed on Monday that he had received a death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, whom he had recently referred to as "petty thugs." According to Yadav, the threat was made while he was allegedly close to Bollywood star Salman Khan, whom the Bishnoi group had previously targeted.
The Bishnoi community has been in the news in relation to Salman Khan due to a long-standing legal case involving the actor and the poaching of blackbucks in Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community, known for its strong environmental and animal protection values, has been vocal in their opposition to the poaching incident, leading to legal actions against Khan.
In recent developments, there have been threats made against Salman Khan, allegedly linked to the Bishnoi group, prompting security concerns and police involvement. This situation highlights the ongoing tensions between celebrity culture and local communities' values regarding wildlife conservation.
