Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan's residence, is more than simply a property to his millions of admirers; it's a representation of their ambitions realised. His opulent home in Mumbai's Bandra Bandstand has grown to be one of the city's most popular destinations over the last 20 years, drawing tourists from all over the nation. However, not many are aware that for a young Shah Rukh Khan, Mannat was only a far-off dream.
Recently, director Aziz Mirza reminisced about the beginning of Shah Rukh's relationship with Mannat. Shah Rukh shot sequences outside the identical property he would eventually acquire in 1997 while filming the song Chaand Taare for the movie Yes Boss. The Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust owned the house at the time.
"Shah Rukh was staying at my house, Devdoot, which was very close to Mannat," Aziz Mirza revealed in an interview with Radio Nasha. Both he and Gauri were youthful and optimistic. He probably told her he would buy that house eventually during one of their many walks together. Because life was good to him, he was able to keep his word.
Mirza also remembered Shah Rukh pointing to Mannat and exclaiming, "Aziz, I've bought that house," as they were filming close to Café Seaside. However, the process wasn't simple. Shah Rukh had to deal with several difficulties, such as the municipality's legal requirements and problems with nearby homes. However, he overcame every challenge and realised his dream.
Fascinatingly, Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan first called the mansion Jannat (meaning "Paradise") after they bought it. Later, in 2005, they renamed it Mannat, a word that aptly captures the experience of a sincere desire being fulfilled.
Mannat is thought to be valued more than Rs 200 crore now. To make room for significant renovations, the Khan family recently moved out of their famous house. They have moved to Bandra and leased two duplex apartments from producer Vashu Bhagnani at a posh apartment development. According to reports, the apartments' monthly rent is Rs 24 lakh, which works out to over Rs 2.9 crore annually for all four levels.
