Bride Hard | Official Trailer
Rebel Wilson's genre-bending comedy "Bride Hard" marks her action debut.
For the film, which is helmed by Simon West of "Con Air," the "Bridesmaids" alumna reunites with her former "Pitch Perfect" co-star Anna Camp, who plays the title character's bride. During the weekend, she is the maid of honour at a destination wedding, but Wilson's role as a covert spy interferes with her personal life. Justin Hartley, Stephen Dorff, Gigi Zumbado, Anna Chlumsky, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph all feature.
According to the official synopsis, "Until she is the maid of honour at her best friend's lavish destination wedding, blending in has never been a part of the mission for badass secret agent Sam (Rebel Wilson)." Sam, who is out of her element and surrounded by high-maintenance bridesmaids and a rigid "no weapons" policy, is desperate to show her buddy that she can assist her, even if she isn't particularly skilled at providing emotional support.
Sam is thrust into a battle unlike any other operation before, one in which she cannot afford to reveal her identity or spoil the special day, when a group of mercenaries breaks into the celebration and kidnaps the guests.
West is directing from a Shaina Steinberg script; the story is credited to both Steinberg and CeCe Pleasants. Joel David Moore, Colleen Camp, Cassian Elwes, Max Osswald, and Jason Ross Jallet from Balcony 9 are producers of "Bride Hard." Additionally, the movie was created in collaboration with Latigo Films, Copper Island Films, and WME Independent.
