FOREVER | Official Trailer | Netflix

What if you had the opportunity to run into your first crush later in life? Would you establish a romantic connection with them? When you were in love as a teenager, would it be everything you imagined it would be? Forever, a new limited series on Netflix, provides answers to all of these queries.

The series' trailer, which features Love Simone and Michael Cooper Jr. in the key characters, was released by Netflix on Thursday. In this coming-of-age tale, two Black adolescents in Los Angeles in 2018 experience a profound first love. They explore their identities while navigating the difficulty (and beauty) of a first romance in a vibrant, youthful metropolis. Themes from the creator Mara Brock Akil's earlier works, such as Girlfriends and Being Mary Jane, which praised Black love, will be present in Forever.

The series is based on Judy Blume's 1975 book of the same name. The cast of Forever also includes Wood Harris, Karen Pittman, and Adriyan Rae. Academy Award winner Regina King will be the director and executive producer of the premiere episode of Forever.

The premiere of Forever is scheduled for May 8.
