The Four Seasons | Official Trailer | Netflix
Tina Fey and Acton native Steve Carell are reuniting for the new Netflix series "The Four Seasons," fifteen years after they played a suburban couple in "Date Night."
The comedy/drama "The Four Seasons," which is based on the 1981 film of the same name, tells the story of six long-time friends—three of whom are couples—who go on four annual trips together, one for each season.
Fey and Carell have already portrayed a couple on screen, but this time they are paired with different actors. Carell's Nick has a family with Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver, “Reno 911!”), Fey's Kate is married to Jack (Will Forte, “Saturday Night Live”), and Danny (Colman Domingo, “Rustin”) is coupled with Claude (Marco Calvani, “High Tide”).
During the first of these quarterly trips, the spouses get together and learn that one of them is about to file for divorce.
The debut trailer for "The Four Seasons" shows Carell's Nick with a new, younger girlfriend (Erika Henningsen, "Girls5Eva"), strongly suggesting that he has broken up with Anne, even though Netflix doesn't state clearly which of the couples is divorcing in its official press release.
As the show progresses through the four vacations, the remaining couples deal with the unexpected effects that a divorce may have on a group of lifelong friends.
“The Four Seasons” will begin streaming on Netflix May 1.
