About CutMirchi

CutMirchi is an entertainment desk built around one question: what is India actually talking about right now? Not what a studio wants covered, not what was big last week. What is moving.

We watch the wires, the trade desks, the regional press and the places the conversation really happens — Reddit threads, YouTube comment sections, the group chats that decide a film's fate before the reviews land. When a story reaches enough of them at once, we write it up.

What we cover

Bollywood, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and the rest of the industries that keep out-grossing the mainstream. Streaming originals and what is dropping where. Box office numbers and the maths behind them. Premieres, awards and the fashion arguments that follow. And occasionally, when it crosses over here, what is happening outside India.

How our stories are written

Every story on this site is written by the CutMirchi desk from reporting that we credit and link at the foot of the article. We do not republish other outlets' copy. We report the same events in our own words, and where the reporting is contested we say who is claiming what.

Our editorial policy sets out how we source, how we handle allegations, and what we do when we get something wrong.

Get in touch

Corrections, tips and complaints all go to the same place: desk@cutmirchi.com. If we have a fact wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say that we did.

Follow the feed

Everything we publish goes out over RSS, and each section has its own feed if you only want one slice of it.
