Editorial policy

This page explains how stories get onto CutMirchi. We would rather over-explain this than have anyone guess.

How we pick stories

We monitor public feeds from national and regional outlets, trade publications and the large public conversations on Reddit and YouTube. A story qualifies for coverage when it is being carried by more than one independent outlet, or when a single credible outlet has it and the social response is significant. Volume alone is not enough. Neither is one anonymous claim.

How stories are written

We use automated tools in our production process. The desk reads the available reporting on a story and writes an original article from it. What we publish is our own text, structured our own way, with our own angle. We do not reproduce other outlets' sentences, and we do not pass off their reporting as ours.

Every article carries a Reported from block listing each outlet the story was written from, with a link to their original piece. Where reporting is single-sourced or contested, the article says so in the text.

Facts, claims and allegations

We do not invent quotes, figures, dates or attributions. If the source reporting does not say it, it does not appear on this site.

Allegations remain allegations. Nobody is described as having done anything unlawful unless a court has found that they did. Stories touching on legal proceedings, deaths, medical matters or accusations against named individuals are held for human review before publication rather than going out automatically.

Images

Article images come from the source outlet's own feed metadata or from public promotional material, and are credited where a credit is available. If you hold rights to an image on this site and want it removed, email us and we will take it down while we check.

Corrections

We correct errors quickly and openly. If a fact is wrong, email desk@cutmirchi.com with the story link and what is wrong. Substantive corrections are noted on the story itself with the date it was updated.

What we do not do

• We do not publish paid coverage disguised as editorial.
• We do not run stories about private individuals who are not public figures.
• We do not publish leaked private material, medical information or addresses.
• We do not take a studio's press release as a fact-checked story.

Comments

Comments are the readers' own. Argue as hard as you like about a film. Abuse, harassment, slurs and defamatory claims about real people get removed, and repeat offenders lose the ability to post.
