Aadarsha Kutumbam – AK 47 is no longer hitting screens on October 9. The Telugu thriller, starring Venkatesh Daggubati and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, has been delayed due to post-production hold-ups, according to producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. The film was expected to launch in time for Dasara, with overseas bookings already underway just days ago. But now, the team admits they’re not ready to submit the final cut for censor clearance abroad.

Naga Vamsi confirmed the postponement at a Hyderabad media event, citing quality as the priority. ‘We were confident until three or four days ago,’ he said. ‘But we’ve fallen behind schedule.’ The new release date will be announced after discussions with Venkatesh, who’s currently travelling. A window of two to three weeks is being considered.

The teaser had already set expectations high — Venkatesh plays a middle-class man caught in a web of tension, with music by S. Thaman. The film also features Srinidhi Shetty, Nara Rohith, and Nivetha Pethuraj. It’s produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations.

Meanwhile, Comrade Kalyan, another Telugu film. Will still open on October 9. Directed by Janakiram Marella, it’s a comedy period drama set in the early 1990s along the Andhra-Odisha border, with music by Vijai Bulganin.

The delay sends ripples through the industry. Fans had already begun speculating about a shift to March. But for now, the only certainty is that Aadarsha Kutumbam – AK 47 won’t be in theatres on Friday. The next move? Wait for the official announcement.
