The Bollywood debutant credited her co-star for shooting through a 102-degree fever with a nebuliser on standby, and he returned the compliment by calling her work ethic on set a little alarming.
Aafiya Sayed posted a long note for her Prem Keetanu co-star Veer Pahariya on Monday, and he wrote one right back. Nothing dramatic happened here. It's the kind of exchange that lands because it's specific.
Sayed, who's making her Bollywood debut with Prem Keetanu, went to Instagram with behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot and a caption that reads like a thank-you letter. "He came into this project as my knight in shining armour and since that first day we became a team," she wrote, according to Bollywood Hungama. "There's nothing I couldn't trust him with, a friend like that on a first set is life saving."
The detail that stands out is the fever. Sayed says Pahariya shot a rain sequence running a 102-degree temperature, nebuliser kept within reach between takes. "He gave this film everything he had," she wrote, adding she was proud of him for it.
She also described him as the kind of co-star who's "funny & unserious" on the surface but turns out to have, in her words, "warmth & wondrous generosity" once you look closer. The post ends on a nickname: "My sweetest vishal, love u!!"
Pahariya's reply
Pahariya wrote back almost immediately, thanking Sayed and joking that her description made him sound better than he thinks he actually is. "I'm honestly blushing and also wondering who you're talking about because this sounds way too nice," he said.
He turned the compliment around on her work ethic instead. "Your hard work, determination and the amount of preparation you put into everything is genuinely so inspiring," he wrote, before adding, only half joking, that the level of dedication was "a little concerning" given some of the crew were "just trying to survive the day." He signed off hoping to work with her again.
It's a small moment, but it tells you something about how Prem Keetanu's set ran. First-time co-stars don't usually write paragraphs about each other's bedside manner unless the shoot actually tested them. Long schedules, drives back and forth, a lead actor working through illness. Sayed's note frames all of it as the thing that made the friendship real rather than performative.
Sayed's path to this debut has its own backstory. She thanked Salman Khan recently for her time on Bigg Boss 20, a stint that clearly built her some profile before Prem Keetanu landed. Whether that audience follows her into a theatrical release is a separate question, and one the film's opening numbers will answer soon enough.
For now, the internet gets a wholesome two-way Instagram thread out of it, and Pahariya gets to pretend he isn't as nice as his co-star just made him look. Prem Keetanu's actual box office conversation is happening elsewhere. This was never meant to settle it.
