Alia Bhatt didn’t just walk the runway — she floated through it. At Manish Malhotra’s Mijwan charity show, she emerged in a custom ivory georgette saree that seemed spun from moonlight, its flowing organza veil trailing behind like a whisper. The look, styled by Rhea and Sanya Kapoor, was anchored by a pleated micro-corset blouse, letting the delicate lace motifs and scalloped borders of the veil take centre stage.
This wasn’t just fashion. It was a tribute. The show celebrated 15 years of Malhotra’s partnership with the Mijwan Welfare Society, led by Shabana Azmi, spotlighting the craftsmanship of female artisans from rural India. Every stitch, fine Chikankari, tonal thread accents. Carried weight beyond aesthetics.
And then there was the jewellery. A heirloom choker set with uncut diamonds, strung with over 310 carats of cascading pearls, elevated the ensemble into something almost sacred. Paired with a subtle maang tikka, dainty earrings, and ornate haathphools, Alia looked less like a celebrity and more like a living legend.
