The future of Allu Arjun’s next film with Lokesh Kanagaraj — tentatively titled AA23, hangs in the balance. A video teaser announced the project earlier this year, but fresh reports suggest it may no longer be moving forward as planned.

According to TeluguCinema.com, Lokesh Kanagaraj, who had previously confirmed he would begin production in November 2026, is now reportedly shifting focus. He is said to have pitched a new idea to Mahesh Babu, raising questions about whether AA23 will proceed. The film was officially announced after the release of Lokesh’s Coolie, following discussions with Allu Arjun.

Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind the project, has not issued any statement. Neither Lokesh’s team nor Allu Arjun’s camp has confirmed or denied the shift in plans. That silence only deepens the speculation.

Adding to the confusion, Allu Arjun is also reportedly continuing work on Atlee’s Raaka, which is being shot in two parts. If true, that could explain why AA23 isn’t advancing. The actor may be committed elsewhere.

Fans are divided. Some are disappointed by the potential delay, while others speculate that the change might lead to something even bigger. The absence of official word means the project remains in limbo.

What’s clear is that the collaboration between one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars and a director known for high-octane storytelling was expected to be a major event. Whether that vision survives depends on what happens next, and when, if ever, someone speaks up.
