Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski are done. The two confirmed it themselves, in a joint statement handed to People on Tuesday, and there's no ambiguity in the wording.

"We have been separated for a while, and it's proven to be the right move for us and our family unit," the statement reads. "We've got each other forever — and it's GOOD."

That capitalised GOOD is doing some work. No mention of who filed, no lawyers quoted, nothing about custody. Just two people saying the marriage is over and framing it as settled rather than messy.

The timeline on how long they were actually together depends on who you ask. Page Six and Extra TV both put the marriage at nine years, which would date it to 2017. Just Jared says they wed in secret in early 2017 as well, but earlier reporting has floated a spring 2016 elopement too. Either way, Sadoski himself confirmed the elopement on Corden's show back in March 2017: "We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing."

There's a similar fuzziness around their kids' ages. Extra TV has daughter Nina at 10 and son Thomas Jr. At 6. Just Jared and Page Six both put Nina at 9 and the son turning 6 this month, or 5 depending on the outlet. What's consistent: Nina arrived just days after the wedding, and the couple has kept both kids largely out of the spotlight since.

Seyfried and Sadoski met in 2015 doing the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By, then played love interests that same year in The Last Word. The offscreen romance followed fast, and by early 2016 they were confirmed as a couple.

Seyfried, 40, has been candid before about the strain of juggling two kids with a stacked release calendar. In a November interview with Us Weekly, she called this stretch "the most I've ever worked with two kids," pointing to The Housemaid and The Testament of Ann Lee landing close together. Back in January, talking to Vogue, she'd said Sadoski "sacrifices a lot" for her career, adding that he knows the opportunities coming her way right now are, in her words, insane.

A few small breadcrumbs suggest this had been building quietly. Architectural Digest reported weeks ago that Seyfried is selling her Hollywood Hills house, bought back in 2011 for $1.85 million, now listed at $3.2 million, while she keeps living on the east coast. Just Jared also references a personal loss Seyfried went through over the summer, without detail on what that was.

Neither party has said anything publicly beyond the joint statement, and Page Six says it has reached out to reps for comment. Whether either of them addresses this beyond the four sentences they've already given is, for now, an open question.
