Amitabh Bachchan turns 84 on October 11, and producer Anand Pandit is marking the occasion not with a film premiere or a red carpet event, but with a quiet yet significant gesture: scholarships for 1,000 deserving students. The initiative, announced by Bollywood Hungama, is being carried out in association with the Lotus Foundation and aims to honour the actor’s enduring legacy through education.
It’s not just a birthday gift — it’s a continuation of a pattern. In 2022, on Bachchan’s 80th birthday, Pandit pledged meals for 8,000 children and donated 800 hearing aids. The year after, he planted over 8,100 trees in his name, creating what became known as the ‘Amitabh Bachchan Grove’.
This year, the focus shifts to learning. Pandit says the inspiration comes from Bachchan’s life, not just the films, but the relentless spirit behind them. ‘Every year, I find it difficult to put into words what Amit Ji means to me,’ he said, reflecting on how the actor’s dedication, resilience, and constant reinvention have shaped his own journey.
