Marvel Studios unveiled a new poster for Avengers: Doomsday at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga, spotlighting Doctor Doom and the Latverian witches ahead of its December 18, 2026 release.
The Dark Turn Begins
Marvel Studios has dropped a new poster for Avengers: Doomsday, revealing Doctor Doom standing amid the Latverian witches in a stark, foreboding composition. The image was unveiled during Walt Disney Studios’ presentation at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026, held at Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga’s Hall M before a crowd of over 3,000 fans.
The presentation included a recorded message from directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who confirmed their return to helm the sequel. They were joined by a surprise live appearance from Anthony Mackie, David Harbour, and Winston Duke — reprising their roles as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Alexei/Red Guardian, and M’Baku respectively.
The trio spoke about the film’s multiversal stakes before the audience was treated to an extended trailer. Footage teased a convergence of characters across three distinct universes, setting up what Marvel describes as "an existential threat unlike anything they’ve faced before."
A Massive Ensemble, A Bigger Stage
Avengers: Doomsday is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Hayley Atwell, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Alex Livinalli, and Mabel Cadena. Tenoch Huerta Mejia also joins the fray.
The film is scheduled to open in theatres on December 18, 2026. It will also be available in INFINITY VISION, a new certification for Premium Large Format (PLF) cinemas, signaling a push into high-end theatrical experiences.
PVR INOX’s Kamal Gianchandani called the upcoming December slate a "MONSTROUS" one, citing Avengers: Doomsday, Dune 3, Jumanji, and King as key drivers. He dismissed concerns about screen-sharing, saying, "We’ll handle it easily…it’s a good problem to have!"
The buzz around the film is already building, especially after the success of Avengers: Endgame Encore, which earned $86M worldwide in its debut. With this new visual and narrative tease, Doomsday is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
