Forget the birthday countdown. The Love and War teaser that everyone assumed would land on September 28, timed to Ranbir Kapoor's birthday, might now show up somewhere far bigger: attached to a print of Ramayana: Part 1 this Diwali.

According to a Mid-Day report picked up by Bollywood Hungama, the September 28 date has become impossible to hit. The film's final schedule only wrapped in the first week of September, leaving no real window to cut and polish a teaser for an online release in three weeks. So the plan has shifted, at least for now, from a digital drop to a theatrical unveiling.

The logic is straightforward. Ramayana: Part 1 is set for Diwali 2026, and Ranbir Kapoor happens to be the lead in both films. Slot the Love and War teaser in front of Ramayana prints and you're handing it to every single person who walks into a hall for one of the year's biggest releases, no algorithm required.

That's reportedly the call Bhansali himself wants to make. He's said to be pushing for a big-screen debut rather than a YouTube premiere, which tracks with a filmmaker who has never been shy about wanting his frames seen the way they were shot to be seen, on the largest canvas available.

What this means for September 28 is less clear. Ranbir's birthday will likely still get some kind of moment from the film, but it may not be the teaser fans were bracing for. The makers haven't said anything official yet, and until they do, this is trade speculation built on a single report, not a confirmed release calendar.

Love and War carries a fair bit of weight already. It reunites Ranbir and Alia Bhatt after Brahmastra, and it's Vicky Kaushal's first outing with Bhansali, a pairing nobody had on their bingo card a few years ago.
