Archana Gautam, the Bigg Boss 20 contestant and Mumbai-based cafe owner, has spoken out about a brazen robbery at her popular eatery, Oye Churros, revealing details that suggest the crime was far from impulsive. The incident, which took place at her Versova outlet, saw an estimated ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 stolen from the cash counter — a compartment valued at nearly ₹50,000 in its own right. But what unsettled Gautam most wasn’t the amount, but the precision of the act. She claims the suspect had been casing the location for days, reportedly sleeping outside the premises with a heavy stick. 'He brought a stick and slept outside at night,' she said, adding that the weapon was large enough to be lethal, 'if anyone caught him, he could kill them.' According to her, the timing and method pointed to careful planning: the thief had chosen his moment with intent. After filing an FIR at the Versova police station, Gautam says officers advised her against releasing the CCTV footage publicly. Their reasoning? That doing so might alert the accused and hinder the investigation. She followed their instructions initially, waiting several days. But as no arrests were made, she decided to take matters into her own hands. 'It’s not that I will sit hand in hand,' she told Hindustan Times. 'Releasing the CCTV footage was my way of asking fans and people around me if they had any clues about who this thief could be. At least, who knows, someone may know him, kisi ke paas koi clue hoga.' The video, now circulating online, shows the man entering the cafe during off-hours, moving with purpose before making his escape. With the case still open, Gautam is appealing to the public for help. Not just to catch the suspect, but to ensure such incidents don’t go unnoticed in a city where small businesses are often left vulnerable.
