The contestant who entered mid-season alongside Tashi Raj becomes the fourth eviction of the season, leaving 19 housemates to fight for survival.
Three weeks. That's all Shibna got.
The wildcard contestant walked out of the Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 house on Sunday, September 27, after viewers voted her out in the Week 3 eviction. Mohanlal, hosting the season as always, broke the news on the weekend episode, and with her exit the house now stands at 19 contestants.
Shibna's run on the show was never going to be long by design, she entered late. She came in through the Bigg Boss Agnipareeksha selection process and joined the house in Week 2 as a joint wildcard alongside Tashi Raj. Two entrants, same week, very different trajectories now, since Tashi Raj remains in the game while Shibna has already exited.
Speaking to Mohanlal right after her eviction, Shibna didn't hide her disappointment. She'd wanted more time to show her game, her strategy, the version of herself she felt the house hadn't seen enough of yet. She also pointed to her own bluntness as a possible reason the public turned on her early, an outspoken, straight-talking contestant who may have rubbed some viewers the wrong way. Still, she thanked her supporters and said she'd given it everything she had while inside.
Her exit is the fourth public-vote eviction this season, following Dhanya, who went by Kaali on the show, Rini Ann George and Sreelaya. Add to that the odd wrinkle of Gayathri R Suresh's brief departure and return, decided by the house leadership rather than the audience, and Season 8 has already had more turnover than most fans expected this early.
The Week 3 nomination list was a crowded one. Sumesh Chandran, Gautham G Sasi, Rakesh Jacob, Shijin S, Jaseela Parveen, Gayathri R Suresh, Kadal Komban, Aishwarya Madhu, Mridhula Vijai and Shibna herself all sat in the danger zone before the votes came in. With Shibna gone, that's nine of the ten back in the house, and every one of them now has to reset for whatever nomination round comes next.
The season isn't slowing down. New tasks, fresh nominations and another public verdict are already on the way, and with four eliminations in three weeks, nobody in that house should be feeling comfortable.
