Mithilesh Reddy, who entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 10 as a wild card after building a following through Agnipariksha, walked out of the house this week with ₹15 lakh in hand. The catch: that money now comes off the top of whatever the eventual winner takes home. The season's prize pool, originally pegged at ₹50 lakh, stands reduced to ₹35 lakh, according to Pinkvilla's reporting on the latest episode.
Here's how it played out. Bigg Boss put a cash offer in front of the housemates, starting small at ₹5 lakh, then bumping it to ₹10 lakh, and finally settling at ₹15 lakh. The deal was simple: take the money and leave, or stay in the game. Mithilesh took the money.
His reasoning, as he explained it, was practical rather than dramatic. As a late entrant, he felt he was already behind. The other contestants had weeks to form alliances, build rapport, pick their camps. Walking in fresh at this stage, he said, would make it tough to establish himself in a house where the equations were already set. So he cut his losses and cashed out.
That calculation, fair as it might sound from the outside, did not go down quietly inside the house. Bigg Boss announcing that the exit money would be deducted from the final winner's prize turned a personal decision into a shared problem, and the housemates were not shy about saying so.
