Chahatt Khanna has put the brakes on joining the reality franchise Alliance after producers asked her to stay off her phone for up to two months. In a candid chat with Bollywood Hungama, the Hasratein 4 star explained that a 40‑to‑62‑day lock‑out would clash with the day‑to‑day demands of the company she runs. \"I won’t be able to do it, because I am running a company also,\" she said, adding that the very idea of being unreachable for that long felt impossible.
The actress didn’t walk away from reality TV altogether. She hinted that a bite‑size format like The Traitors could work for her, provided the filming window is short. \"If you ask me to leave my phone for 60 days, what will happen to my company? So I couldn’t do it.\" By contrast, a few days on a game‑show where the phone ban is limited feels doable. She admitted she hasn’t watched the current season of The Traitors India in full, but has caught a few episodes and heard the host Sahil Salathia’s humor.
Beyond the small‑screen, Khanna is eyeing the entrepreneurial arena. She confessed to occasionally tuning into Shark Tank India and said a pitch could happen either this year or the next. \"Sometimes I watch some episodes of Shark Tank,\" she noted, leaving the door open for a future appearance.
When asked about her limited bandwidth for television, Khanna was unapologetic. \"I don’t get time to watch TV, hardly, I get time,\" she said, stressing that she prefers to spend her free moments on cinema or scrolling her phone rather than chasing trends. \"If I will watch it anytime, I like to watch cinema. If I want to spend my precious time, I like to watch what I like,\" she added.
The interview also revisited the backlash she faced after her character Ayesha turned sour in the long‑running drama Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Khanna recalled that once the role shifted from sympathetic sister to antagonist, strangers in malls would corner her, clutching her arm and demanding explanations. \"Aunties used to hold me tight and scold me, ‘What do you want? Why are you after your sister’s life?’ It was difficult for me to step out,\" she recalled.
Khanna gave credit to co‑stars Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar for shaping her craft on that show. She described Kapoor’s spontaneity and Tanwar’s method approach as a blend that enriched her performance.
Currently, the actress is back on the small screen with Hasratein 4. She said the project came to her without a formal audition. After reading the script, the role felt relevant enough to accept. \"For this, I said yes because of the character,\" she affirmed.
