The actor broke his silence days after internet sleuths linked an account trolling his ex-fiancée and her fiancé Harry Styles back to his own Instagram follows.
Channing Tatum says he does not have a secret Instagram.
The 45-year-old actor spent Monday shutting down a theory that had been building since the weekend, after internet users noticed an account called "Nonya Bidness" had exactly one follower: him. The account, whose name plays on the phrase "none of your business," had reportedly been leaving sour comments under photos of Zoë Kravitz and her fiancé Harry Styles. TMZ also reported that Jennifer Lopez turned up as a target at some point. Tatum and Kravitz were engaged before splitting, which is presumably why the internet ran with the idea in the first place.
Once the screenshots started circulating widely enough, Tatum posted a response on his Instagram Story that read like a man genuinely fed up with his own timeline.
"Yo I truly can't believe y'all think this is what I'm doing with my free time," he wrote. "F***in hilarious. Also why would I follow a burner account if I didn't want people to connect me to it? Wtf come on."
He closed it out plainly: "But if I really need to say it, I only have one IG account @channingtatum."
It's a fair point, and one the internet hadn't quite reckoned with in its rush to connect the dots. If you're running a secret account to take shots at your ex, the last thing you'd do is leave a public follow trail pointing straight back to your verified profile. TMZ noted Tatum also reportedly followed the account himself, which is exactly the detail that got this theory moving, and exactly the detail his denial leans on to argue the opposite.
According to Just Jared, Tatum's former wife Jenna Dewan also weighed in on the speculation, though the specifics of what she said haven't been widely detailed yet. Given that Dewan and Tatum share a long, occasionally tense public history of their own, her jumping into a conversation about his alleged online behaviour was never going to go unnoticed.
None of this has been confirmed beyond Tatum's own statement. There's no verification from Instagram or any third party about who actually runs the account in question, and the platform hasn't commented. What we have is a viral theory, a denial, and a comment section that isn't likely to quiet down just because the man himself said so.
Whether "Nonya Bidness" keeps posting, goes dark, or gets identified as someone else entirely is the part nobody's answered yet. Until then, expect this to keep circulating every time Kravitz or Styles post anything at all.
