Crazy Kalyanam hits screens on October 16 — and the trailer just dropped with a laugh track already built in. The film, a Telugu wedding comedy from Arrow Cinemas, is now officially in the Dasara race, though it’s not the kind of marriage story you’d expect from a family drama. VK Naresh plays the father trying to fix up his daughter, Anupama Parameswaran, who’s got her own agenda: she wants a husband who washes dishes while she climbs the career ladder. That’s not even the twist. She’s already in love with someone else, Akhil Uddemari, who enters the scene like a plot device with a smile and a swagger. And then there’s Tharun Bhascker as Balraju, the son-in-law who’s a Suddapusa by day and a full-blown drunk by night. His dual identity alone should’ve been enough for a standalone series. Directed by Badrappa Gajula and scored by Suresh Bobbili, this is Production No. 2 under Boosam Jagan Mohan Reddy’s banner. It’s not just a wedding. It’s a full-on emotional buffet. The trailer doesn’t hide its chaos. It leans into it. Confusion, romance, dishwashing demands, and one very questionable drinking habit. Whether it’ll survive the Dasara rush remains to be seen. But if the laughter in the first 30 seconds is any indication, the theatres might be packed before the credits roll.
