The Drones trailer dropped at noon today, and the internet is already arguing over whether that house in the woods is a portal or just really bad architecture. Directed by Raghav Mirdath — yes, the same guy behind Bun Butter Jam, the film promises a fantasy adventure where reality folds like a cheap origami crane. The tagline? ‘Reality ends, impossible begins.’ That’s not a warning. That’s a promise. And it’s coming to theatres on October 16. No delay. No reshoots. Just a week from now, audiences get to see if the mysterious house in the trailer is haunted, sentient, or just a very well-designed set. The cast reads like a list of indie darlings: Siddhi Idnani, Anjali Nair, DevaDarshini, Dravid Selvam, CinemaWala Sathish (who also co-produces), Kuraishi, RJ Deepak, and SASSI Selvaraj. They’re all playing roles in what appears to be a quirky, genre-blurring ride with more questions than answers. GM Morgan Films produced it, with Sathish again pulling double duty as creative producer. There’s no mention of music, but given the tone, expect something whimsical, maybe even a little off-key. The film’s already being pitched as a theatrical experience. Not a streaming filler. So if you’re looking for something that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this might be your next weekend. But don’t count on logic. It’s already been left at the door.
