Prabhas' Fauzi has been sitting on a December 3, 2026 release date for a while now. That might be about to change.

According to Filmy Focus, the makers are looking at pushing the film into 2027, with March being floated as a possible new window. No official word from Mythri Movie Makers yet, and the outlet itself says the exact date is still up in the air. But if it happens, it would be Fauzi's second shift after an earlier round of delays already moved it off its original slot.

That uncertainty has turned December 3 and 4 into the most contested real estate on the Telugu release calendar right now.

Three films, one weekend

Naga Chaitanya's Vrushakarma is reportedly eyeing December 3, the exact date Fauzi currently holds, per 123telugu. The mystic thriller, directed by Karthik Varma Dandu of Virupaksha, has Meenakshi Chaudhary opposite Chaitanya and B.V.S.N. Prasad producing under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra alongside Sukumar Writings. The teaser has already built some heat, and the makers are said to be gearing up for a bigger promotional push once the date firms up.

A day later, on December 4, sits Dulquer Salmaan's Sri Sri, also per 123telugu's trade sources. Directed by debutant Ravi Nelakuditi and pairing Dulquer with Pooja Hegde for the first time, the SLV Cinemas production has GV Prakash Kumar on music. The film's promotions have been thin so far, just the one song out, which is odd for something supposedly six weeks from release. If December 4 is really the target, the marketing needs to catch up fast.

Legacy has also locked December 4, adding a third film to that one date and making it clear why everyone's watching what Fauzi does next.

None of this is official. Every date mentioned here, Fauzi's possible exit, Vrushakarma's December 3 bid, Sri Sri's December 4 push, is trade buzz reported by outlets citing unnamed sources. Studios haven't put out statements confirming any of it.

But the pattern is telling. When a big pan-Indian title like Fauzi wobbles on its release date, everyone else in that window starts recalculating. Prabhas carries enough weight that competing directly with him is a risk few producers want to take voluntarily, so it's no surprise that Vrushakarma and Sri Sri appear to be timing their moves around whatever Fauzi finally decides.

Fauzi itself is a period drama set before Independence, with Hanu Raghavapudi directing and Prabhas playing a soldier opposite Imanvi. It's a big-budget Mythri film, the kind that usually gets a wide, uncontested runway. Right now it doesn't have one.

Expect clarity in the coming weeks. Mythri will need to announce something concrete on Fauzi before Vrushakarma and Sri Sri can afford to lock their own dates for real, and December's Telugu calendar stays a moving target until then.
