Kash Patel, the director of the FBI since February 2025, is now engaged to Alexis Wilkins, a 27-year-old country music artist and right-wing political commentator. The engagement was confirmed over the weekend via a post on Instagram, where Wilkins captioned a black-and-white photo of the couple: "Went and got the law involved." Patel shared the announcement on his own social media accounts.
The couple met in early 2023 at a Nashville house party hosted by country singer John Rich. According to Wilkins, the initial interaction began with a comment about her jacket — though she disputed Patel’s version that she walked away. Their relationship has drawn attention not just for its high-profile nature but also due to the security detail assigned to Wilkins, which includes 24/7 protection from FBI SWAT agents.
This level of security has sparked controversy. Former FBI counterterrorism executive Christopher O’Leary called it "unprecedented and inappropriate," citing instances such as the FBI escorting Wilkins to a hair salon, a U.K. Resort, and even a dinner at Windsor Castle. In December 2025, reports surfaced that the detail had escorted one of her friends home after a night out in Nashville, though Patel has denied these claims.
