Hanuman Ansh's first weekend abroad did what six weeks of Indian theatres alone hadn't quite managed on the global ladder. The devotional drama opened overseas on Friday, September 11, and by Saturday its worldwide tally had climbed to 237.43 crore gross, according to Koimoi. That number puts it past Dhamaal 4's 236.43 crore, making Vishal Chaturvedi's film Bollywood's fifth highest-grossing release of 2026 on the global chart, not just at home.

The domestic number tells its own story too. On day 37, a sixth Saturday, Hanuman Ansh added 23.01 crore in India and another 5 crore internationally, a combined 28.01 crore for the day, up 65.84% on Friday's 16.89 crore. Weekend spikes aren't rare this deep into a run, but a jump that size six weeks out suggests the overseas release found an audience fast. The film has grossed 227.93 crore in India and 9.5 crore abroad since its August 7 opening.

Across town, Mirzapur The Movie is running its own race against the same target. The crime thriller scored 13.3 crore on its second Saturday, a 40% jump over Friday's 9.5 crore, taking its domestic net to 176.57 crore, or 208.35 crore gross. Made on a reported budget of 90 crore, it has already returned 96.19% of that spend in nine days. Cross 180 crore net and, by trade math, it's a clean hit. Koimoi's numbers suggest that happens on day 10, today, which is also when the film overtakes Dhamaal 4's domestic tally of 177.92 crore to claim the fifth spot on India's own 2026 list.

So within roughly a day, Dhamaal 4 drops out of two separate top-five lists, knocked down by two different films, one on the worldwide chart and one at home. Mostly a coincidence of release dates, but it says something about how crowded the top end of 2026 has gotten.

Neither film is done climbing. Hanuman Ansh's trajectory points toward the third spot on the worldwide list, currently held at a distance by Border 2's 485.3 crore. Mirzapur, still riding strong word of mouth into its second weekend, has a shot at 250 crore net if this pace continues. Koimoi describes what's shaping up as a "cat-and-mouse" contest between the two for that third rung, though neither is within real touching distance of Border 2 yet.

For Dhamaal 4, the timing is unkind, caught between a devotional hit that found unexpected legs overseas and a crime thriller still accelerating in its second week. The next few days should settle where Hanuman Ansh lands relative to Mirzapur, and how much of Border 2's lead either can eat into before the year is out.
