Hanuman Ansh is heading to SonyLIV — the spiritual biopic that defied every box office blueprint is finally coming home. The film, which began its journey in theatres on August 7, 2026, after a reported production budget of just ₹2 crore, has since grossed over ₹453.67 crore worldwide, making it one of the most unexpected commercial triumphs of the year.
Its domestic gross stood at ₹404.97 crore, with ₹343.11 crore net collected in India, primarily from the Hindi version, which earned approximately ₹336.83 crore. The Telugu version added ₹5.91 crore, while overseas markets contributed an estimated ₹48.70 crore (around USD 5.4 million). The film’s success was not just financial. It resonated deeply with audiences who found in its quiet narrative a rare kind of emotional and spiritual clarity.
Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh traces the life of Lakshmi Narayan Sharma, a young man whose world fractures after personal loss. Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century India, the story follows his slow retreat from worldly attachments and his deepening connection to devotion, self-discovery, and Lord Hanuman. Over time, he evolves into Neem Karoli Baba, a figure known for compassion, sacrifice, and service without expectation.
