Thirty-four days in, and Hanuman Ansh is still adding crores nobody expected it to make. The film pulled in Rs 10.25 crore net across 7,810 shows on Day 34, at 35 per cent occupancy, according to figures from Sacnilk reported by Free Press Journal. That's a 4.7 per cent dip from the Rs 10.75 crore it made a day earlier, but the drop barely registers against the bigger picture. India net collections now stand at Rs 153.13 crore, gross at Rs 180.95 crore. The Rs 150 crore net mark, officially cleared.

Go back to the opening weekend and none of this looked likely. Hanuman Ansh released to Rs 10 lakh on day one, from just 355 shows running at 10 per cent occupancy. Not a launch, barely a whimper. Week two didn't help either, adding a combined Rs 40 lakh. By most trade math, the film should've quietly vanished by week three.

It didn't. Week three brought in Rs 10.40 crore, the first sign that something was shifting in theatres, likely word of mouth doing the heavy lifting rather than any marketing push. Social chatter around the film has swung between genuine praise, with some viewers calling it surprisingly sharp, and others admitting they're lukewarm on it but bracing for backlash if they say so out loud. That split hasn't stopped the numbers.

The turnaround weeks

Week four is where the film really found its legs. Friday brought Rs 6.25 crore from 2,829 shows at 52 per cent occupancy, Saturday climbed to Rs 9.25 crore across 4,137 shows, and Sunday hit a weekly high of Rs 12.75 crore with occupancy touching 55 per cent over 5,363 shows. Monday cooled to Rs 5.50 crore, as expected on a weekday, before Tuesday bounced back to Rs 8.50 crore from 7,008 shows.

Week five is the real story, though. Friday opened at Rs 10 crore, Saturday jumped to Rs 16.50 crore with occupancy at 62 per cent, and Sunday delivered the film's single biggest day yet, Rs 22.75 crore from 7,077 shows running at 73 per cent occupancy. Monday held at Rs 10 crore. Four weeks after release, a film that made Rs 10 lakh on day one was making more than double that on a random weekday.

Hanuman Ansh is written, directed and produced by Dr Vishal Chaturvedi, and stars Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand. It's built on Chaturvedi's own book, Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, which traces the life of Neem Karoli Baba, and is billed as the opening chapter of a planned trilogy. Whether the sequels get greenlit will likely hinge on how far this one still has to run. Occupancy is still swinging wildly week to week, from 22 per cent lows to 73 per cent peaks, which suggests the audience hasn't settled into a pattern yet. Whether Day 35 holds or slips will say a lot about which version of this film's audience sticks around.
