Himesh Reshammiya is back in Vikram Bhatt's horror universe. A source told Bollywood Hungama that the composer has signed on to score 1920: Cold Winter, ending a 13-year gap between the two collaborators.

This will be their fifth film together. The two go back to Footpath in 2003, then Fear and Red: The Dark Side in 2007, and finally Dangerous Ishhq in 2012. Nothing since. So this is, by Bollywood standards, a proper reunion.

According to the source, Bhatt wanted the music on this one to do real work, not just sit under the jump scares. "This time, he really wanted the music to stand out and So he approached Himesh," the source said, adding that Reshammiya jumped at it.

The deal isn't limited to composing. Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, his own label, has picked up the music rights to 1920: Cold Winter as well. Busy year for the label — it's also releasing music for Emraan Hashmi's Gunmaaster G9, Ayushmann Khurrana's Yeh Prem Mol Liya and Anil Sharma's Arjun Naga, which stars Utkarsh Sharma and Arjun Rampal.

A change of scenery

Bhatt has built a lot of his horror filmography around Ooty. Not this time. A separate source told Bollywood Hungama the director is moving the shoot to Mussoorie, and shooting it in winter to match what the film needs on screen. Makes sense for a title with "cold" in it.

1920: Cold Winter got announced not long after Haunted – Echoes Of The Past, the Mimoh Chakraborty horror film, did unexpectedly well at the box office earlier this year. Both films share a producer in Anand Pandit, who seems to be reading the horror numbers closely right now.

Ahan Shetty is the male lead. Anya Singh, who was recently seen in The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, joined the cast just a day before the Reshammiya news broke, per Bollywood Hungama's earlier report. The two aren't strangers to sharing a frame, they played a married couple, Lt Cdr Mahendra Singh Rawat and Sudha Rawat, in this year's war hit Border 2. This makes 1920: Cold Winter their second outing opposite each other, though this time the register shifts from wartime drama to horror.

No release date has surfaced yet, and Bhatt's team hasn't put out a full cast list beyond Shetty and Singh. With the shoot pegged for winter and location scouting apparently locked to Mussoorie, the film's actual production timeline should start taking shape over the next couple of months.
