North West's first solo concert happened on September 5 at The Vic Theatre in Chicago. Both her parents showed up. That's not in dispute. What outlets can't agree on is the framing.

Bollywood Shaadis called it Kim and Kanye "coming together" for their daughter. Page Six, reporting on the same night, says the two kept their distance, watching from separate balconies of the sold-out venue. A TikTok video circulating from the show backs the second version. Kanye is seen filming on his phone with his own crew around him, nodding along. Kim is on the other side with friends, pointing and cheering when North comes on.

So, reunion or coincidence of scheduling? Depends who you ask. Either way, both of them made the trip, and North got a full house doing it.

Kim posted her own footage to Instagram Stories, a clip of fans packed shoulder to shoulder waiting for the set to start, and another of the crowd jumping when North finally walked out. One story reportedly showed a fan holding up a sign that read "We're from the North West Side."

The set list leaned on tracks from N0rth4evr, the six-song EP North dropped on May 1 this year, a guitar-heavy, punk-leaning record with titles like D!e, W0ah and the title track itself. Page Six reports she also worked in unreleased material. This was meant to be a tour stop, technically. North had a headlining run booked with rapper Molly Santana, five Texas-to-Canada dates starting August 5. That tour got canceled last month. Nobody involved has said why. The Chicago show is the first time she's performed solo since.

She's no stranger to a stage, mind you. Just weeks before this, North was up at SoFi Stadium doing father-daughter duets with Kanye at his comeback show, "Talking" and "Piercing on My Hand" among them, and the crowd reaction there was loud enough that people wondered if a joint project was coming.

Off stage, both parents have moved on in ways that get covered as heavily as the kid's music does. Kanye's been married to Bianca Censori since 2022. Kim went public with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton back in February, the two first spotted together in Paris, and neither has been shy about posting the relationship since.

Kim and Kanye were married from 2014 to 2022 and share four kids, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. It's not confirmed whether the younger three were in Chicago for their sister's night.

What happens with the canceled tour, or whether North goes back out on the road at all this year, is still open. For now, the story is simpler than the family history around it: a 13-year-old sold out a room, and both her parents were in it, even if they weren't standing together.
