Krishnudu is out. Bigg Boss Telugu 10 wrapped its second week with a single elimination, not the double exit that had been doing the rounds all week, and the singer became the house's first casualty, according to Track Tollywood, which reported the shoot for the episode had already wrapped by Friday afternoon.

Eleven contestants had gone into nominations this week: Trigun, Rohith Nayudu, Ram Prasad, Mukesh Gowd, Debjani Modak, Varshini, Sudheer Reddy, Shalini Patel, Srishti Vyakarana, Krishnudu and Jhansi, who'd just been crowned the season's first captain after edging out Trigun, Ram Prasad, Mukesh Gowd and Shalini in the captaincy task, per Filmibeat Telugu.

Unofficial polling in the days before the result had four names sitting in the actual danger zone: Krishnudu, Sudheer, Srishti and Varshini, all trailing well behind the pack. Trigun had overtaken Rohith Nayudu at the top of the table by a wafer-thin margin, something like a percentage and a half, while at the other end Krishnudu and Varshini were separated by a reported 0.03 percent. That's about as close as house voting gets.

So the trend lines pointed at Krishnudu or Sudheer going first, with Varshini and Srishti as the outside possibilities. It played out almost exactly that way, Track Tollywood noted, with Krishnudu the one to walk.

What makes the exit sting a bit more is the power he was sitting on. Krishnudu had reportedly been handed a special ability to swap positions with another contestant in the game, either pulling someone he liked into a spot or shifting himself out of the firing line entirely. Whether he used it, or used it too late, isn't clear from what's out there. Either way, it didn't save him.

The double elimination chatter had built through the week on the back of the season's already twisty first fortnight, a mid-week exit, a re-entry, and a no-elimination weekend all packed into the opening stretch. That the makers went single this time will likely read as a small mercy to the house, but Sudheer, Srishti and Varshini aren't out of the woods. All three were sitting on some of the lowest vote shares heading into results, and none of that goodwill necessarily carries over.

Jhansi's captaincy win, coming while she was technically in the danger zone herself, adds another wrinkle. Whether the house lets her run the room or turns on her for it will shape week three.

The next nominations round should tell us fast whether Sudheer and company get a real cushion or walk straight back into the same bottom three.
