That number, per the outlet, puts the film ahead of Awarapan 2 and makes it the fourth highest opening weekend grosser of 2026 so far.

That's a big ask for a film built entirely around a franchise that lived on streaming for years. Mirzapur built its audience one binge-watch at a time. It never had to prove itself with a Friday number. This weekend, it did, and it cleared the bar with room to spare.

The cast around Fazal reads like a reunion nobody wanted to miss. Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar, Rasika Dugal, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Shweta Tripathi and Sonal Chauhan are all back, produced once again by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment.
