Lori Loughlin has made it official. TMZ reported Tuesday that the 62-year-old actress filed for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli, 63, ending a marriage that began in November 1997 and has been unraveling in slow motion since last October.

According to the paperwork obtained by TMZ and detailed by Page Six, Loughlin listed August 31, 2025 as the date of separation and cited irreconcilable differences. The filing, reportedly submitted September 4, also points to a prenuptial agreement the couple signed before their wedding and then amended in August 2015. Loughlin has asked that spousal support be worked out later and wants property, assets and debts divided the way the prenup spells out. She's also asking Giannulli to pick up her attorney's fees.

None of this arrives out of nowhere. A representative for the couple confirmed back on October 2 that they were living apart, calling it a break from the marriage with no legal proceedings underway at the time. That changed less than a year later. In between, the two sold their Hidden Hills mansion, a property they'd bought for $9.5 million before listing it for $16.5 million and eventually closing at $12.65 million late last year, per TMZ's figures.

Bollywood Shaadis, citing unnamed sources, reported that Loughlin's circle has been unsympathetic to Giannulli through the split, with one insider claiming she was still angry and had come across messages on his phone that upset her. Giannulli had reportedly been seen around stylist Hannah Harrison, though another source described that relationship as platonic and chalked the timing up to coincidence. None of this is confirmed, and Loughlin's divorce filing does not name a third party.

What sources close to the family kept circling back to, per that same report, is the college admissions scandal. Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty in 2020 to charges tied to paying fixer Rick Singer roughly $500,000 to get daughters Isabella and Olivia Jade into USC as fake crew recruits. Loughlin served two months, Giannulli five. An insider told Bollywood Shaadis the scandal was the real fault line, that the marriage never recovered once Loughlin decided she hadn't fully forgiven him for pulling her into it. She didn't blame him entirely, the source said, but she felt he'd led it.

Whatever the private math, the timing outside the courtroom has its own irony. Loughlin returned to Instagram just days before the filing became public, posting for the first time in ages with a caption that read simply, "Here's to things working out." Isabella is 27 now, Olivia Jade 26, both well past the admissions saga that once put their parents in federal custody.

The filing sets the legal process in motion. What's left to sort is the money, the prenup terms and whatever spousal support gets negotiated once both sides file their responses.
