Luc Besson’s take on Dracula is now streaming on Paramount+, marking a late entry into the spooky season lineup. The film, released in French cinemas in summer 2025 and in U.S. Theaters in February 2026, has finally landed on the platform ahead of Halloween. It’s part of Paramount+'s Peak Screaming collection, which leans into October’s horror mood with titles like Scream, Pet Sematary, and Dexter: Resurrection.
The story follows Dracula as he navigates eternal life after his wife Elisabeta’s death in 15th-century Transylvania. Reborn as an immortal, he seeks to reclaim her across centuries, drawn to a woman in Belle Epoque Paris who resembles her — Mina Murray, played by Zoë Bleu. The film shifts between Romania’s Transylvanian Mountains and Paris, culminating in the city’s centenary celebration of the French Revolution on July 14, 1989.
Caleb Landry Jones, known for roles in Get Out and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, steps into the title role. Besson reportedly cast him after working together on Dogman, calling Jones ‘crazily talented’ and comparing him to Gary Oldman. Jones also shares screen time with Christoph Waltz as a vampire-hunting priest, Matilda De Angelis as Mina’s friend Maria, and Guillaume de Tonquédec as Dumont. Thalia Besson, the director’s 25-year-old daughter, appears as Isabelle.
